JOHN (JACK) FORSYTHE On the road again... Jack Forsythe (John) departed on his final journey to the great RV Park in the sky. After a brief and courageous battle with lung cancer, Jack completed his journey on the evening of Monday, March 20, 2006. Jack was born August 6, 1930 in Mentmore, MB. In 1953, he met Margaret Baraniuk in the bank where she worked, and after a brief and intense courtship, she agreed to marry this handsome man on November 6, 1954. Jack farmed in the Neepawa area on the family farm until 1967 when the urge to explore captured his heart and he moved his family to Victoria, BC where Jack worked for the Department of Transport at the Victoria International Airport. There were many family trips across western Canada in those early years that satisfied his itch to travel. In 1974, when the pull of the prairies called him back to Manitoba, he worked on Richardson Stock Farm and farmed the land once again. Jack later returned to the Department of Transport at the Winnipeg International Airport where he worked from 1977 until his early retirement in 1990. Once again, the lure of the road called and together, Jack and Marg travelled this great land. This time, they travelled in their RV where they roamed from coast to coast and much of the USA making many new friends along the way. They joined The Redboine Travel Club where they made many more lasting friendships and enjoyed numerous trips together. Jack was a true family man who leaves to mourn on his solo journey, his wife and co-pilot of 51 years, Marg; his children, Bob, daughter-in-law Carol; Brian; Kimberley, and his most precious granddaughter MacKenzie; his sisters, Florence, Dorothy and her husband Thor; brother Don and his wife Betty; as well as his mother-in-law Annie. He joins his parents, Anne and Allison; sister Ruth; and brothers, Earl and Mitchell. Jack loved to travel and couldn't wait to get on the road again... Thank you to all our friends who showed their support. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m. at the United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's (John) honour to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, ON109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
