EUGENE VERRIER Eugène Verrier passed away peacefully on Monday, March 20, 2006, at the age of 81. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 60 years, Solange (nee Courcelles); sons and daughters, Gilbert (Annette Bourrier), Roland, deceased (Diane Chatel), Marie-Paule (Claude Bourgouin), Victor (Gisèle Labossière), Madeleine (Jorge da Silva), Denis (Irène Pelletier), Diane (Maurice Lévesque), Angèle (Roland Kirouac), Gilles (Thérèse Marion), Armand (Cécile Harel), Réal (Louise Lévesque), Nicole (Léo Lévesque), Ginette (Gérald Jolicoeur), Hélène (Shane Shodine); 40 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Also left to mourn are two brothers, nine sisters, many brothers and sisters-in-law and numerous nephews and nieces. Eugène was born in Aubigny on May 17, 1924. At the age of 4, he moved to La Broquerie where he went to school, raised a family with his wife, farmed and enjoyed his retirement. Throughout his life, he served on various committees and volunteered his time to the parish. Eugène cherished spending time with his family. He loved the outdoors, fishing and gardening. He was a man of many talents who was equally at ease building a barn as he was repairing a watch. He was also an accomplished musician, and the family will especially miss the sound of his harmonica. In celebration of his life, prayers will be held on Friday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 Des Meurons, Winnipeg. Viewing will take place on Saturday, March 25 at 10:00 a.m. followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. at La Broquerie Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow at La Broquerie Parish Cemetery.
