JOANNE LENORA FORSTER (nee SMITH) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joanne on March 12, 2006, one week before her 55th birthday, following a courageous battle with cancer. Joanne is survived by her loving husband Craig and two daughters, Jennifer Forster (Ryan Wall) and Sarah Moorehead (Jason). She also leaves three sisters, Judy, Sheila (Rob), Vicky (Randy); two brothers, Ron (Karen) and David (Wendy); many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends (especially the Trafford Gang ). She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard O'Connor Smith in 1982 and Florence Lenora Smith in 2001. Joanne worked for 25 years at Richardson Greenshields in the communications department and then at the University of Manitoba in the Engineering Dean's office for four years, from which she retired in 2003 to open a Bed Breakfast with husband Craig in Keewatin, ON. Joanne lived for her family, friends, nature, cooking and of course her beloved cats. Her little piece of heaven on earth was Fox Lake where she spent as much time as possible. She made everyone welcome and comfortable at her many dinner parties at her Winnipeg home, Fox Lake and most recently at the Bed Breakfast. Joanne will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service to remember Joanne's life will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gospel Mennonite Church, 232 Nassau St. N. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joanne's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent. St., Winnipeg, MB. R2L 1X3 Joanne's arrangements have been entrusted to Wojcik's Family Owned Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.
