NICHOLAS KOMUS Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, Nick passed away at Calvary Place Personal Care Home, at the age of 98 years. Nick is survived by his brothers, Joseph and Art (Gwen). On January 4, 1908 Nick was born in Beckersdorf, Austria and immigrated to Canada with his parents at the age of six. As an adult he worked in electronics for some years until his retirement. He had a variety of interests and excelled at all of them. In the 60s his photography won him many awards at Red River Ex. He also had his photographs accepted by salons in North America. At family gatherings, Nick was always known to carry his camera and of course, took the wedding pictures for countless nephews, nieces and friends. Uncle Nick's pictures will always be much cherished by them all. Later he took up ceramics, rock polishing and making beautiful jewellery until macular degeneration deprived him of most of his sight. On Saturday, April 1 at 2:00 p.m. Nick's funeral service will be held in the chapel in Calvary Place Personal Care Home, 1325 Erin St. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Calvary Place for their loving and compassionate care especially during those last days of Nick's life.
