Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN GERARD (JACK) WATTERS John Gerard (Jack) Watters, born in Dundalk, Ireland in 1921. It is with great sadness the family wishes to announce the passing of Jack on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 84 years young. Jack passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon, BC. Jack had a full and distinguished life. At the age of 18 he served his country valiantly in the Second World War from 1940 - 1945. Jack's printing career began in Winnipeg at Moore Business Forms and spanned five decades, retiring from Wayside Press in Vernon, BC in 1986. Upon retirement Jack served the community in several capacities including Seniors Outreach OK North, Wheels to Meals, Seniors in Action Community Channel, Seniors Peer Counselling, Schubert Centre and most recently, Peoples Place. Jack was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 35 years and loved curling and fishing in the Okanagan and Rocky Mountains. Those who knew him enjoyed his sharp wit and intellect. Jack is survived by his loving wife Mary of 33 years; brother Jimmy (Mary) Watters; daughter Patti (Greg) Kulak; and sons, Gordon (Jane) Watters, Craig (Diana) Page and Lance (Laurie) Page. All will lovingly remember Jack, including his grandchildren, Tara, Erin, Robyn, Meghan, Taylor and Hayden. A gathering of family and friends will take place at Schubert Centre on March 16 at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate Jack's life.
