Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE DEVISSER (nee MACIEJKOW) January 7, 1932 - March 23, 2006 It is with sadness and deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Elsie DeVisser on March 23, 2006 at Kin Place Personal Care Home, Oakbank. Elsie leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her sons, Randy (Marla), Donald (Nancy), John (Linda), Sydney (Marie), Albert (Charlene), Charles (Cheryl), Patrick (Susan) and her daughters, Laura Liebrecht (Bruce) and Dianne Lubinski (Jack). Elsie's caring and loving personality will be missed by her 15 grandchildren, Barrett, Terence, Jacklyn, Kyle, Megan, Ryan, Ashley, Amanda, Dayna, Travis, Branden, Jordan, Dustin, Curtis and Trevor. She is also survived by her brother, Alec (Dianne) and sisters, Jessie (Ed), Mary (Mike); brother-in-law Harry (Olga); sisters-in-law, Anne, Sophie, Dorothy, Shirley and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jack (John); her mother and father, Barb and John; grandson Jim; brothers, Nick, Bill, Joe, Mike, Peter; sister Anne; brothers-in-law, Brian Chudleigh and Bob DeVisser; sisters-in-law, Frances Magico and Carol DeVisser and nephews, Kenneth, Terry, Rick and Bob. Elsie was raised in the Springfield area and received her education at North Springfield and Birds Hill School. She met Jack and they eventually married on October 27, 1951. They purchased a home on Oakwood Road, then moved to Springfield Road, where they raised their nine children. Elsie worked at Regent Park Restaurant, then Spud Stop and Kendel's Restaurant as a cook, until 1995, when she decided to retire and enjoy a more leisurely lifestyle. She loved travelling, camping, gardening, fishing, crocheting, reading, playing scrabble and family gatherings. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff of Kin Place Personal Care Home for their kindness and support. Special thanks to all Mom's family and friends who came to visit her at Kin Place and helped to make her stay there feel like home. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with viewing prior to the service. Rev. Brenda Fraser officiating with interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations made in Elsie's memory, to the Canadian Diabetes Association, would be appreciated. God has you in His keeping, We have you in our hearts. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
