Eva will be remembered with love by her daughters, Susan Campbell (Archie) of Winnipeg and Barbara Wilson McNiel (Bill) of Ottawa; grandson Adam Campbell; nieces, Carol Cannon of Richmond, BC, Diane Auksela (Joe) of Bartlesville, OK, and Candace VanderMay of Vancouver, BC; nephews, Ed Rodger (Heather) of Peachland, BC, and Russ Cassidy of Winnipeg, sisters-in-law, Edyth Wood of Moose Lake, MN and Martha Wood of Bay City, MI and her daughter Rita-Kaye; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Archibald Angus Wilson in 1995, her parents Edward and Rosa Wood (Ploughman), sisters Violet Coles and Elsie Winchell, and brothers Cecil and Nelson Wood. Eva was born in Winnipeg in 1914. Upon her mother's death, she was cared for by her Aunt Susie and Uncle Edward French in Toronto. She later returned to Winnipeg and attended Lord Roberts Elementary and Kelvin High Schools. She was employed respectively as a stenographer, a comptometer operator for Alberta Pacific Grain Co, and a cashier for Shop Easy Grocery Stores. As an active member of Riverview United Church, Eva sang in the Church choir and was its music librarian for 40 years. She also directed the Junior Choir for many years. She devoted her time and talents to the United Church Women's organization, holding several leadership positions. Eva regularly played the piano at church services at the Municipal Hospitals. Eva gave also to her community. She canvassed for various charities each year and was one of the original drivers for Meals on Wheels, from whom she received an award for her long time service. Eva's home was always open and welcoming to relatives and friends. Her daughters' friends felt equally welcome at the Wilson home and the cottage at Victoria Beach. We will miss her smiling face and loving ways. Sincere thanks to her compassionate and loving caregivers at Golden Links Lodge. A memorial service will be held in Churchill Park United Church, 525 Beresford Ave. on Monday, March 27 at 1: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba or to Golden Links Lodge.
