JOSEF (JOE) WOLBERT We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Josef Wolbert on March 21, 2006 after a year of hard fought illness. Joe will be greatly missed and forever remembered by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Martha; three sons, Harry (Valerie), Brian (Nicky) and Richard (Dawn); grandsons, Jason and Mitchell and many friends. Joe was born in Mannheim, Germany in 1936. he came to Canada in 1952 and began his career in the grocery store industry. He worked for many years before opening his own store, Fairway Grocery, where he stayed until his retirement. He always enjoyed dealing with the customers and got to be friends with many of them throughout the years. Since retirement, Joe enjoyed spending summers at the cottage at Hnasau and travelling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Mitchell and Jason whom he dearly loved. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface MICU, and floor 5B, the nurses at CancerCare for their commitment, kindness and support. We would also like to thank Dr. Olweny, nurse Therése, and his family physician Dr. G. Pinette for their excellent care and support during the past year. Joe was determined to beat his illness, even though he had so many odds against him. His fighting spirit was with him until the end.
