LEO MCDOUGALL It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Leo McDougall, on March 25, 2006 at the Deer Lodge Centre. Leo was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Colin; wife Yvonne; brothers, Aime, Philip, Frank and Marcel; sister Rolly and brother-in-law Fred Manness. He is survived by his sister Edvina and sister-in-law Anne and nephews. Leo was born August 21, 1919 and grew up in St. Francis and St. Charles, MB. He recalled travelling by sleigh to school and to church at St. Charles Parish. As a young man Leo was called to join the Army during the war. He served at Shilo, Victoria, Prince Rupert, St. Boniface and England. Leo saw duty in Germany, where he was wounded at Odenbury, eight days before D-Day. Following the war, Leo worked at Eaton's, the City of Winnipeg (Parks and Recreation), and the Winnipeg Arena for 22 years. He retired in 1983. Leo was an avid Blue Bombers fan. He enjoyed playing pool, bowling, golf and curling. He liked to attend the Norwood-St. Boniface Legion. The family would like to thank all the staff at Deer Lodge center (5th floor) for the exemplary care that they afforded Leo during his stay. A celebration of Leo's life will be held on Thursday, March 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Norwood-St. Boniface Legion, 134 Marion St. Entombment will take place at a later date in the family crypt in the Chapel of Eternal Mausoleum, 1501 Waverly St. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.
