CECIL WILFRED (JOE) BEALES December 20, 1924 - March 26, 2006 After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother at the age of 81. Cecil was predeceased by his beloved wife Rene and parents, Roy Allen and Anna Beales. He leaves to cherish his memory, son Roy Sr. (Rickie-Lynn); grandsons, Roy Jr. (Karla), Jamie (Dee), Louis and Andrew; great-grandchildren, Jason, Jesse, Cora and Emily; brother William; sister Melvina Akins of Manor, SK; nieces, nephews, countless relatives and friends. Cecil was born in Arcola, SK. He served with the R.C.A.F. in the Second World War. He was based in England where he met and married Rene McNickel in April 1946. Their son Roy was born in September 1952. The family returned to Canada in 1961. Cecil quickly gained employment with Motor Sales as an auto mechanic, achieving the role of Master Technician for Jaguar; one of the few in North America. Cecil was an active member of the Winnipeg Modular Railway Club from 1970 to 2005. He and his friends would spend countless hours displaying their trains in various locations in Winnipeg. Cecil was also a proud member of the Rover Motor Car Club. Special thanks are in order for the doctors and nursing staff on the fifth floor of the Victoria General Hospital for their care and kindness. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I met Joe at the Winnipeg model railroad. He was a kind gentleman and always willing to help other members with any troubles they had, he even fixed a pair of my dad's locomotives that hadn't worked for years. I am a lucky person indeed to get to know this gentleman, he will be missed. - Posted by: Charles Pearce (friend, and fellow model railroader) on: Apr 16, 2015
