JAMES MERVYN (JIM) BENEDICTSON With quiet strength and dignity, Jim Benedictson peacefully passed into the loving arms of God on March 28, 2006. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered, by his loving wife and soulmate, Mary; daughters, Kristine (friend Ron) and Stephanie (Murray); grandchildren, Katrin, Cameron and Joel (and their father Tom) and Adam and Nicholas; brother Ray, (Merilynn) and their daughters. He will also be forever remembered by numerous friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, (Arthur and Eileen) and three brothers. Jim was born in Lundar on July 1, 1937 and as a result has always been extremely proud of his Icelandic heritage. When he was seven years old, his family moved to St. James, where he lived the majority of his life, raised his family and built his successful business, Murray Park Garden Supplies. He ended his career as a realtor with Morden and Kemp. There has never been a greater husband, father and grandfather. The celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. A heart of gold stopped beating, Working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither, The golden sun may set, But the hearts that loved you dearly, Are the ones that won't forget. May the Creator cradle you in His arms and let you rest in peace.
