Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE MOSKALUIK (nee PETRASH) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Marie Moskaluik with her family by her side, on March 28, 2006 at the age of 83. Marie was born in Sundown, MB on November 1, 1922. She was the first born to a loving family of six brothers and one sister. Her love of family was nurtured at an early age as well as the art of cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. Marie was a talented cook who seldom used a recipe and her baking was exceptional. Marie also sewed beautiful clothing for her family in no time at all, without a pattern. Her working career started at the age of 14 at the Jasper Hotel in Alberta. She then moved to Winnipeg and started working at the Black Stone Café on Smith Street. She met and married William and together they worked and resided in Winnipeg for a number of years. They then bought the family farm in Vita, MB where they continued to reside for many years. She worked at the Vita Hospital as a cook for 18 years and then the Vita Hotel until she retired. Her children and grandchildren were the highlight of her life. Our beloved Mother was a very special lady; her home was always open, she always made people feel at ease and they never went home hungry. Marie leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish many fond memories; her children, Allan (Val), Christine (Orest) Storozuk; grandchildren, Les (Leah), Lorrie (Lee), Connie (Garry), and Tanya (Henry); great-grandchildren, Kyla Woodhouse and Alora Seidler; step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, Chastity (Dion) Jesse, Katlin, Dawn (Gil) Skylar, Tettanna, Faith, Cheryl (Neil) Sherri-Lynne, Josh, Mathew, Valerie (Jon), Thomas and Emma; her sister Olga (Basil); her brother Matt (Lena), Walter (Corky), John (Pearl) and many cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Petrash, her beloved husband William and brothers Bill, Steve and Orest. The family would like to thank everyone at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their exceptional care in Mom's last years. Prayers are being held at Park Manor Personal Care Home at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2. The funeral is to be held at the Ukrainian Catholic Parish in Sundown, MB at 11:00 a.m., Monday April 3.
