FLORENCE MAY NODDER January 4, 1920 - March 24, 2006 It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our Mother and Nanna, Florence, with her family by her side, on Friday, March 24, 2006, at St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Florence, who was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jim, on October 19, 2000, will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, son Barry Nodder (Sheila) of Vernon, BC, daughter Linda Wolch, and grandchildren, Amanda Wolch McNaughton (Don), Eden (Steven Becker), Glynnis, Shana, and Gavin. Florence is also survived by her brother William Meggison of Australia, and sister Marie Burn of England, and numerous family members in England and Canada. Florence was born in Sunderland, County Durham, England. She met and married Jim, an officer with the Royal Canadian Air Force, during the war in 1943. They returned to Winnipeg in 1945, where they resided until Jim was transferred to Saskatoon, SK in 1949, where they enjoyed 17 happy years raising their children. In 1966, they again returned to Winnipeg, where they eventually retired in 1985. Florence was the most loving wife, mother and grandmother, and cherished her husband and children, and five grandchildren, beyond all else. She touched the lives of many people, and will be fondly remembered. Florence and her family particularly appreciated the special care given to her by Steven Becker, her future grandson-in-law, and the loving support of special friends, Shirley (Blanche) Dyer, Dr. Frank and Sue Hechter, and their sons, Joshua, Chapin, Shael, and Drake, Kathy Rodrigue, Sister Pierrette Boucher, and Dr. John Walker. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Thayaparan and all of the dedicated staff at St. Boniface Hospital. In keeping with Florence's wishes, cremation and a family service took place on Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Florence's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. R3E 0V9, would be gratefully appreciated.
