ALICE GISELE PROULX Alice Gisèle Proulx, aged 72, retired world traveller, died peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on Thursday, March 30, 2006, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born Alice Hamonic on January 12, 1934, in Larochelle, MB, to the late Louis Hamonic and Marie Hamonic (née Guégan). She is survived and will be greatly missed by her son and his wife, Marc and Pamela of Winnipeg and their children, Corey, Meaghan and Brendan; her son and his wife, Alain and Cheryl of Winnipeg and their son Evan; and her son André of Ottawa; five sisters, Irene St-Laurent of Kelowna, BC, Suzanne (Edward) Bell of Kelowna, Liliane Puhach of Winnipeg, MB, Denise Valaire of Red Deer, AB and Nicole (Jim) Sanderson of Shelburne, NS. She also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 26 years, Eugene, her brother Paul Hamonic, her brother Fernand Hamonic and her sister Simone Dowhan. Following cremation, a funeral mass will be held at the Cathédrale de Saint-Boniface, 190, av. de la Cathédrale, on Tuesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m., with l'abbé Bonin presiding. Interment of the remains will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice's memory to the St. Boniface General Hospital Research Foundation, Room D1003, 409 Taché Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 9Z9.
