JANET (ROSE) PARROTT (nee HYDE) Janet Rose Parrott passed away peacefully on the morning of March 29, 2006, at the Douglas Campbell Lodge in Portage la Prairie. Rose' was the youngest daughter of Joseph and Francis Hyde (nee Troop) and the last of their 11 children to pass. Predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Dr. Fred Parrott, she will be missed by her children, Leslie Parrott, Linda Hayes and Richard Parrott, the Hyde families, and her many friends. From her early school years at Burnside, MB and Portage Collegiate Institute, she went on to receive a registered nursing degree from Victoria General Hospital in 1941 and a radiology diploma in 1949. She served on the staff of Portage General Hospital and Portage Medical Clinic until she married in 1960. Rose was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church and carried her faith in service into the community at large. She loved to be active - hardly ever sat down. Bridge, curling, golf, charities, Eastern Star, politics, parties, music. Put Rose and a piano in the same room and you had a singsong. For as long as she lived, Rose could brighten a room just by walking into it. We will miss her laughter, and we will cherish her legacy ... Smile and the world smiles with you. A funeral service will be held in Trinity United Church, Portage la Prairie, MB in early May and details will follow. In lieu of flowers the family asks to have donations go to the Douglas Campbell Lodge in care of the Portage District General Hospital Foundation for, (524-5th Street SE, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3T8) in gratitude for their care and kindness. Friends may leave a message of sympathy on our web site www.omegafuneralhoime.com Dedicated to those we serve . The Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie, MB in care of arrangements.
