Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID REDEKOP November 15, 1935 - March 28, 2006 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Redekop of Niverville, MB at the age of 70. David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Margaret (nee Hildebrandt) and daughter Catherine. David leaves behind his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Katharina Hildebrandt; brothers, Jake (Marge), William (Roselyn), Henry (Edith), Aaron (Donna), Victor (Karen); and sister Helen (Wesley) Plett; many nieces and nephews; as well as half-sisters, Margaret (David) Dawes, Hilda (Stew) Cherry, Linda (Jesse) Leung; and half-brother Peter (Darcy). David was predeceased by two daughters and his parents. David was born in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico on November 15, 1935 to William and Helena (nee Becker) Redekop. In 1945 David's parents moved to Marquette, MB and later moved to Niverville, MB where they purchased a farm. This is where David discovered his love for farming. On June 23, 1957 David was baptized at the Niverville Conference Church. David later married Margaret in British Columbia on November 9, 1968 and enjoyed 37 wonderful years of marriage together. They have one daughter Catherine. David will always be remembered as a man with a kind heart, generous nature and a strong love for God and to do His will. David loved to tell jokes and his laugh and smile were contagious as he always had a smile and tenderness about him. He was a caring husband and father and loved his family and life very much. David also loved farming. He enjoyed the labour of the field and the fall harvest. He had found his enjoyment working with Margaret in the garden, planting melons and corn and taking care of the family farm where they lived for 36 years. David loved to tell stories of the past, visit with family and friends and read and discuss history. His traveling days were shortened due to illness, however fond memories of adventures to British Columbia, Thailand, Paraguay and Belize were always spoken of and a hope to return to these places never died. A week prior to David's passing he was still able to have the pleasure of driving a tractor home in anticipation of seeding and to enjoy another year of harvest. The Lord Jesus took our dear husband and father home to be with Him on March 28, 2006. Dad, we love you and miss you, our hearts break for you and we wait patiently until we meet again. All our love and tears flow for you. You will always be missed, remembered and loved. Now you're resting, sweetly resting. Love you always. Margaret and Cathy. The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 4 at 2 p.m. at the Word of Life Mission Church in Niverville. Interment at the Glenlea Cemetery.
