DIANE LINDA WEAVER (nee GABOURY) June 20, 1954 - March 29, 2006 It is with heavy hearts that her family announces the passing of Diane, loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. She succumbed at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital after a lengthy battle with mental illness. Diane was predeceased by her beloved father Gabriel Gaboury in 1994 and her memory will be cherished forever by her two children, Barry (22) and Cherylee (17); her mother Ruth Gaboury; sisters, Terry (Bruce) and Janine (Gordon); brothers, Bernie, David, and Roland (Isabelle); nieces, Melody and Valerie; and nephew Julien. Diane was born in Winnipeg, MB where she trained and obtained her RN certification at Winnipeg General Hospital. She worked as an RN at a number of hospitals in Winnipeg and joined the Victoria Order of Nurses. She later moved to British Columbia where she last worked at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in the nursery. Diane was always a loving mother to each and every child for whom she provided care. Her family would like to extend its gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the ICU at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital for their professionalism and compassion in the care they provided Diane in her final days. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 301 Machleary St., Nanaimo, BC, on Tuesday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. The celebrant will be Fr. Darek Zarebski, SDS.
