Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINA (LOUISE) PADDOCK (nee LEASK) Mom passed away peacefully with Dad by her side on April 1, 2006 at the tender age of 63 years, at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre. Louise was born on May 3, 1942 at Swan River, MB; she met Bill in 1963 in Churchill where she worked at different jobs over the 25 years she lived there. These included Renewable Resources, Employment Services and Medical Services. She also worked with the R.C.M.P. in Island Lake and then on to Cree Nation Child and Family Caring Agency in The Pas, Manitoba. Mom had many interests during her life time, she enjoyed basketball, baseball, volleyball and loved to curl. She was an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and making friends, she could spend countless hours talking, laughing and reminiscing with friends of new and old alike. While in Churchill she was an active member and held many offices of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary, she also sang in the Anglican Church Choir, she served on the Board of Directors of the Churchill Health Centre for many years. While in Island Lake, Mom held the term of Mayorship of Stevenson Island; this gave her the drive to make changes for her community which led her to run for a seat with the N.D.P. in the Churchill Riding. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Catherine Leask. She is survived by her loving husband William (Bill) Paddock; children, Clifford (Diane, son Mitchell), Debbie (Scott, daughter Coral), Crystal (Wayne, daughter Kelsey, son Cole), Carmelle (Brent, daughters, April and Kyra); sisters, Barbara Leask, Shirley Linklater, Charlotte and husband Fred Evans, Lillian Linklater and Heather and husband Peter Charlette; brother Charlie Linklater; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. from Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel. Rev. Abe Krahn and Fred Evens officiating and the service to conclude at the Chapel. Donation in memory of Louise may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre or to CancerCare Manitoba. We would like to extend our deepest thanks to all of you who called, visited and prayed for mom these last few weeks. We would also like to thank the Palliative Care Team at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.
