IRENE MARJORIE REED (nee BILLINGTON) October 30, 1918 - April 4, 2006 Peacefully, with her family by her side, Irene passed away at Victoria Hospital on April 4, 2006. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Catherine Billington (Porth); her loving husband Kenneth in 1974; her sister Evelyn; brother Harold and nephew Harold. She is lovingly remembered by her family, son Gordon (Lena) of Teulon and daughter Diane (Terry) of Winnipeg. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Donald (Sabrina) and Debbie (Brad) of Teulon, and Lauren and Paul of Winnipeg; also three great-grandchildren, Riley, Cameron and Mhea of Teulon. She is also fondly remembered by her niece and nephew Janet and John Billington of British Columbia and close childhood friend Marjorie Chranowski of Brandon. Irene was a quiet, gentle, honest and loving person. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy and happiness and she provided much love and support to all her family. Her presence will be forever remembered in our lives. The family sincerely thanks the staff at the Poseidon Care Home for all their attentive care and staff on the fourth floor, Victoria Hospital for their support during Irene's final days. At her request, a private family memorial service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in Irene's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
