BILL (WASYL) RUSNAK August 28, 1928 - April 3, 2006 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Bill at the age of 77 years on April 3, 2006 at St. Joseph's Residence. Dad was born in Theodore, SK and raised on the farm. After marrying Iris in 1949 he briefly lived and worked several jobs in Ontario. In 1952 he moved to Winnipeg, working at the Royal Alexandra Hotel until it closed in 1968 and completed his working days at the CPR Weston Shops, retiring in 1986. Until his last year Dad had a happy retirement enjoying his grandchildren, his yard and his (animal) friends. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Irene Rusnak; sisters, Lillian Morose and Eva Ottenbrieit; brother John; and granddaughter Kaye Sarah. Left to mourn, his wife Iris of 56 and one half years; sons, Barry, Glenn (Anne), Dale (Kathy); daughter Connie (Jean) Champagne; grandchildren, Alison (Tim) Owen, Mark, Joanna, Meagan, Stephen, Garrett, Taylor, Simeon, Renee and Quin; and great-granddaughter Tessa; sisters, Mary (Dan) Ottenbrieit, Kay Barnesky; brother Matt (Helen) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Thank you to Dr. Terry Babick and the staff of St. Joseph's Residence for their compassionate care. Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 6, 7:00 p.m. at Glen Eden. A funeral service celebrating Bill's life will be held on April 7, 1:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Interment and reception to follow. Rev. Marc Whitehead officiating.
