EVA MARIE KAY After a courageous battle with cancer, Eva passed away on March 23, 2006 in Prague, Czech Republic, at age 70. Eva was a loving, kind and generous person and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Eva was predeceased by her parents Ladislav Pavlik and Marie Pavliková and her beloved brother Otakar. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Harold, son Martin Stadler, grandson Marek, sister-in-law Katherine, nephew Stefan, great-nephew Reed, great-neice Kali and many close and dear friends. Born in Prague, Eva graduated as a Chemical Engineer (BSc) and worked in her field for 17 years. Following the 1968 Soviet invasion, Eva left the country with her son and brother and began a new life in Winnipeg working as a Lab Technician for the National Testing Laboratories and the Medical College, University of Manitoba. She was also employed as a Sales Associate with Metropolitan Life Insurance and The Bay. Eva's education, knowledge and interests were broad and included theatre, music, literature, fine art and politics. She was an avid swimmer and former equestrian. Eva maintained a strong association with the Czech Republic and was a proud member and supporter of the Canadian Czechoslovakian Benevolent Association (Winnipeg). If friends so wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eva's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7, or, to the Canadian Czechoslovakian Benevolent Association, 154 McKenzie Street, Winnipeg, MB R2W 5A2.
