Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALMA DOREEN KEHLER (nee Monkman) May 24, 1943 - April 4, 2006 After a courageous struggle with cancer, Mom left us at the Seven Oaks Hospital to be with our Lord God Almighty where she will forever be loved and cared for by His gracious mercy. Mom was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Weyne; father Frederick Monkman Sr; grandparents, Margaret and Isador Loyer; siblings, Gladys, Lorna, Hilda and Gary. She leaves to mourn her passing her children, Sherry Lyn (Michael), Rudolph Irwin (Marlene) and Fern Leanne (Charles Sr.); mother Mary; grandchildren, Dana, Clifford, Brent, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Justin, Jasmine, Charles and Niklas; great-grandchild Jaylene; brothers, Lesley (Audrey), Howard (Kathleen), Lester (Pamela) and Freddy Jr. (Sharon); sisters, Esther and Eileen (Steve); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; close personal allies, Ron Purdy, Fern Badioux and Herman Edwards; godchild Leah Pelletier Ross; Shelley Swan, Margaret Swan and Gladys Pelletier. Mom was born in Macrosse, MB and raised in the Metis community of Vogar, MB by her parents. The stories are endless about Mom as she had such a large family tree. We know from some of these stories that she loved certain things in life, especially going to bingo where she had many chances to share fun and laughter with friends and family throughout her life. Mom worked hard all her life and one of her first jobs as a teenager was living away from home as a maid for a farming family located beside the community of Eriksdale, MB. As she became more independent, she met and married Ernest Kehler from another farming community. They moved to Winnipeg and as working parents they raised their four children. The family would like to give a heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care for our mom. Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 7 at Kateri Parish, 794 Ellice Ave. with Rev. Fr. François Paradis officiating. A memorial service and feast will be held at the Vogar Community Centre on Saturday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.
