CATHERINE MYTZ It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Catherine, at Selkirk General Hospital on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by her husband, Mike in 1981; parents, Kornel and Josephine Boyko; sisters, Helen Clutchey, Mary Seymour, Molly Springett, Marg Boyko and brother Maurice Boyko. Catherine is survived by her son, Daniel and wife Barbara; grandchildren, Mike (Mandy) and Kim (Rob); great-grandchildren, Malaya and Malik Mytz. Also left to mourn her passing are sister Josephine of Winnipeg; brother Mervin of Hamilton, ON; sisters-in-law, Natalie Cooper (Gerry), Louise Rose (Lorne), numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her dearest friend, Dolly Hardwick. Mom was a kind, gentle and strong willed person. Her family and home were very important to her. She loved gardening, cooking and baking, but most of all cherished the time she spent when family and friends came to visit. The kettle was hot on the stove and the cribbage board would be pulled out and ready. We will all truly miss her. Funeral mass will be held Monday, April 10 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, corner of Sophia Street and Pacific Avenue, Selkirk with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Antonenko and nursing staff at Selkirk and District General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care and also to Mom's homecare workers. If so desired, donations in Catherine's memory can be made to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
