MAE GLOWACH (nee LESSARD) Mae Glowach (nee Lessard) of Yellowknife passed away peacefully in her 81st year on April 5, 2006 at the Aven Manor. As well, Mae is survived by seven loving grandchildren, Casey (Byron) of Victoria, BC, Terra of Toyko, Japan and Leslie, Ben, Darren, Christine and Katie all of Yellowknife; brother Edward (Alice) of Yellowknife, sisters Helen and Vivian of Edmonton, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Alec, granddaughter Sindy and four brothers and one sister, Mae will be laid to rest in Arborg, MB on Tuesday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. Services will be held at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel with viewing at 1:00 p.m. To complete their final wishes, Mae and Alec will be interned together at the Okno Cemetery following the service. In Yellowknife, a celebration of Mae's life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion on April 20. Everyone who knew Mae knew the passion she had for dancing, music, friends and fellowship. Friends and family are invited to join in this remembrance celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Mae's memory to the Yellowknife Association of Concerned Citizens for Seniors for the Aven Manor. The Beyond It seemeth such a little way to me across to that strange country, The Beyond; and yet, not strange, for it has grown to be the home of those of whom I am so fond. And so for me there is not death; it is but a crossing, with abated breath. A little strip of sea. To find one's loved ones waiting on the shore more beautiful, more precious than before. - Ella Wheeler Wilcox Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
