Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOPHER (CHRIS) EDWARD RUSSELL WESTON (L'IL WESTON) 4 October , 1981 - 1 April, 2006 With great sadness and very heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Chris Weston after a long and courageous battle with bone cancer. Chris was predeceased by his grandparents, Rose and Tommy Weston, Marion Mitchell; and his mother Lorraine Hanover (nee Mitchell). Chris will be deeply missed and always loved by his father Gary (stepmother Anne), stepdad Andy Hanover, his best friend -brother Jason (Taryn) and niece Tatum. Special thanks to Aunt Maureen, Uncle Bob and cousins, Debbie (Jason), Tom (Kate), Matt, Andrea and Carly for their support. Thanks also to Aunt Phyllis, Uncle Rejean and the rest of the family in Ontario. His many friends in Winnipeg, particularly Denis and Jeanette, in Moose Jaw and all across the country have lost and will miss someone special. Chris was forever looking for ways to be financially self-sufficient. He enjoyed working with his brother at Bonanza and Boston Pizza in Moose Jaw; working at the Mohawk on St. Mary's in Winnipeg; and his dream job of making furniture in St. Catherine's. Everywhere he went people instantly warmed up to his charm, looks and personality. Chris loved to go fishing with his father, Grandpa Mitchell and Uncle Rejean. The more fish the better, but when he out fished his father, life couldn't be any better. He loved his times at Laclu, fishing and paddling around in his dinghy. We would like to thank the doctors at Mount Sinai Hospital - Wunder, Tozer and Colter for their efforts at helping Chris beat the first discovery of his bone cancer. His physiotherapists in Terrace Bay, Michelle and Jim Strong, worked hard on his recovery for several months - thank you. We would also like to acknowledge the nurses and home care workers who looked after him in Winnipeg, especially Todd who really helped him. To the doctors, nurses and orderlies on the 8th floor, Palliative Care, St. Boniface General Hospital, thanks for everything you did in his final weeks, especially Stan, Wes and Bridget. Thanks to Dr. Ralph Wong and nurse Kathy and the folks at CancerCare Manitoba. Many people went above and beyond in making his time easier. A celebration of life in memory of Chris will be held on Saturday, April 15, 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Canad Inn, 1824 Pembina Hwy. In lieu of flowers, Chris wished for donations to be made in his name to the Terry Fox Run, 543 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 3L4. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy 284-7500

I had the pleasure of being Chris' manager for a short time at the Royal Bank. He was a wonderful young man who made many friends and gained the respect of his colleagues during his tenure at RBC. We have been kept informed throughout his struggle and the same positive outlook and determination we saw in the workplace held true throughout his battle.I feel priviledged to have known him. - Posted by: Karen Laliberte (Family) on: Apr 03, 2006
