NINA HORDIENKO Peacefully with her family beside her, Nina passed away on April 5, 2006 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 85. Nina is survived by sons, George (Gay) and Ed; granddaughter Kathryn (fiancé Robert) and Kathryn's brother Kevin; and granddaughter Heather (fiancé Matt); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Michajlo and daughter Rita. Nina was born on March 25, 1921 in Mogilov, Belarus and came to Canada in 1950 with her family. She was a devout wife and mother and provided a nurturing environment for her children. They built a cottage and spent many happy times there. Nina was a great cook and enjoyed family gatherings especially around Easter. The family would like to thank the staff on CD1 at Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion. Prayers will be said on Monday, April 10 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary the Protectress Sobor, 820 Burrows Ave. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 11 at 9:30 a.m. also at the Sobor with Rev. Fr. J.S. Buciora, Ph.D. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nina's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to a charity of your choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
