MARY ( MAY) HAGBORG After a long and healthy life May Hagborg passed away peacefully at the Stonewall Hospital on April 7, 2006, at the age of 91 years. She is survived by daughters, Edie (Carl) Simonson, Elaine (Larry) Gusta; son Walter (Isla Hagborg); grandchildren, Carol (Jeff), Donna (Weston), Robert (Renee), Bonnie (Greg), Andrea, Michael (Liz); great-grandchildren, Scott, Heather, Nelson, Joel, Alex, Marshall and Jasper. May was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1992; sisters, Lillian, Isabel, Muriel and Irene; and brother Bill. May was born June 21, 1914 at Warren, MB. She married Harry in 1934 and lived on the farm at Meadows until 1988 when they retired to Stonewall. May was a gentle, kind person who accepted all without judgment. She spent many hours volunteering for the Meadows Community Club and always enjoyed the sociability. She took her giving spirit to Stonewood Place and continued her volunteer activities in her new home. May fondly remembered the 20 years she and Harry spent wintering in Arizona. The grandchildren will always remember the cookies and love they found at Grandma's house. She was never too busy for others. Her family and friends are grateful for the years they were privileged to be part of May's life. The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood Lodge and Stonewall and District Health Centre for their kindness and loving care during her stay. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, April 10 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest District Palliative Care or a charity of your choice. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
