Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (EWAN) DIDUR 1915 - 2006 John died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 6, 2006, at his residence at Arlington Haus. He was born on April 10, 1915, so was a couple of days short of reaching age 91. John was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Anna; brothers, William, Fred and Alex; and sisters-in-law, Anne and Dorothy. John is survived by his four brothers, Dmetro (Mary) of Dauphin, MB, Mike (Eleanor), Tom (Reta) and Wally (Louise) of Winnipeg, MB. Also, sister-in-law Peggy of Blenheim, ON, as well as a number of nephews and nieces. He worked hard and long hours on his farm near the village of Ukraina, north of Dauphin, MB. Most work was done manually and due to the Depression, as well as dry years, income was very minimal. In spite of this, there were happy times. He often mentioned that neighbours had trust and respect for one another. The home was never locked and you were not afraid to greet a stranger on the road. John moved to Winnipeg in 1964. He was employed by Versatile Co. for awhile, and later by Canada Post Office, downtown. He was a good gardener, liked sports, and was a devoted prime home care giver to our mother for many years. Funeral service and burial will be held on Tuesday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. with Mr. Fred McLaren officiating. There will be viewing prior to the service. The family would like to thank all the friends for visiting John and especially a big thank you to all the workers and nurse at Arlington Haus.
