Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCARL L. MASTERS Carl L. Masters passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 7, 2006 at Jocelyn House. He was predeceased by his loving wife Sophie in 2004 and leaves to cherish his memory five children, sons, Carl Jr., Joseph, Derek, Paul (Marg) and daughter Sherry (Wayne); four lovely grandchildren who will miss him deeply, Camille, Tina, Gavin and Adam, along with many friends from the deaf community. Carl was born on March 6, 1917 in Thunder Bay (formerly Fort William) ON and attended the Manitoba School for the Deaf in Winnipeg. He then moved to Thunder Bay, ON where he was employed in the Canadian Iron Foundry for 11 years, then Ogilvie Flour Mills Ltd. for 22 years until retirement; he moved to Winnipeg in 1982. He enjoyed playing hockey in Rural League and ten-pin bowling in Thunder Bay. He was a member of the Manitoba Deaf Seniors Club. The family wishes to thank the very wonderful staff of Jocelyn House and Dr. M. Kristjanson for their marvelous care. Hats off to you gals and guys for making our special Dad feel more special. Also many thanks to our wonderful dear friend, Jan Saunders, for being the interpreter. In accordance with Carl's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Donations in Carl's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X5 or Jocelyn House Inc., 177 Egerton Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2M 2W7.
