LORNE CHARLES GREIG 1929 - 2006 Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother. Born in Hamiota, MB on June 19, 1929, Lorne gently left this world on April 6, 2006. Lorne will be remembered with love by his wife Ruth; son Lorne; daughter Bonnie; grandsons, Cody, Adam and Sean; daughter-in-law Karen; son-in-law Rod; sisters, Dorothy, Jean and Winnifred; brothers, Bill, Gavin and Lindsay. His parents, Dorothy and William and brother Lambert predeceased him. Lorne worked most of his life in the automotive parts industry. Together with his friend and partner Craig Holke, Lorne owned and operated Spitfire Auto parts and Scrambler Courier. From 1993 to 2002, Lorne was proud to work with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends at the Winnipeg Airport and at the Taxation Centre. Flying and aviation were Lorne's passions in life, and in 1968 he obtained his private pilot's license. For many years, friends and fellow pilots would drop-in on Lorne's airstrip on the back forty . He was proud to have later built and flown his own Ultra- Light aircraft. Lorne will always be remembered for having a camera around his neck or a movie camera in his pocket. He captured many memorable moments of our lives on film, slides and video. Lorne was a member of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles Association for over 50 years and was also a longtime member and supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion. Our family wishes to acknowledge the many caring individuals who have been a part of Lorne's life for the past three years. We also wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the respectful and gentle care given to Lorne at the end of his life. Thank you all for your many acts of kindness. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12 at 2:30 p.m. in Old Kildonan Cemetery, North Main at Chief Peguis Trail. As Lorne dearly loved his little dog Archie, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3, in his memory would be deeply appreciated. Neil bardal inc. 949-2200
