MARGARET WILLIMINE FRASER (nee HARVEY) Margaret Fraser passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord at Souris (Manitoba) Personal Care Home with her family by her side on March 28, 2006. Margaret was born to Henry Ward Thomas Harvey and Jeanette Elizabeth Mary (Alford) Harvey September 11, 1914 at Tremaine, R.M. of Odanah, MB. She attended Tremaine and Rapid City schools. She graduated in psychiatric nursing from Brandon Mental Hospital in 1936 and later trained and worked as a lab technician at BMH. She then completed an x-ray course at Winnipeg General and worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Winnipeg. Margaret did home nursing in Winnipeg prior to her marriage to Thomas Reginald Stephen Fraser in the Harvey family home at Rapid City February 5, 1946 and moved to the family farm at Fairfax, MB after they enjoyed an extended honeymoon to the West Coast. Margaret's strong faith in Jesus Christ guided her daily life. She was active in her local church wherever she lived. Her gift was working quietly. It was more important to be than to do. Family was a priority. She encouraged and supported her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to develop their God given gifts and talents. Margaret and Reg considered the school bus kids part of their extended family and followed their careers and accomplishments with pride and joy. Margaret enjoyed hand crafts, gardening, sharing her produce, entering crafts, baking and flowers in local fairs. Margaret is survived by daughter Isabel (Bill) Acheson of Somerset; sons, Ernest (Donna nee Farthing) of Minto and Del (Heather Dueck nee Krohn) of Fairfax; daughters, Alison of Richmond, BC and Marjorie (Wayne Sweeney) Fraser of Yellowknife, NT; granddaughters, Teresa (Whitehorse, YT) and Sheri Acheson (Fort McMurray, AB), Karen Fraser of Minto, Carla (Allan) Hemingway of Minnedosa, Corrie (Dorian) Hector of Saskatoon, SK, Laura (also of Saskatoon) and Myra Sweeney (Chilliwack); great-grandchildren, Estina and Kaylin Hemingway, Hannah, Rebekah, Elijah, Bethany and Galilee Hector; brother Garth Harvey of Mill Bay, BC; sister Vera McAllister of Madeira Park, BC; sisters-in-law, Nancy Harvey of Montreal, Laura Harvey of New Westminster and Grace Horsburgh of Surrey, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Reg Fraser in 1992; grandson Robert Acheson in 2002; brothers, William, Omar, Gordon, Winston, Angus and Francis Harvey; and sisters, Winnifred Harvey, Marion Biccum and Alison Ransom. Funeral service was held at Faith Community Baptist Church Souris, MB, Friday, March 31. Interment in the Elgin Cemetery.
