MARGARET A. GRANT (nee HARPER) Born in Paisely, Renfrewshire, Scotland, November 3, 1951, Margaret passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, April 9, 2006 with her family faithfully by her side. Margaret's battle with cancer was a victory in that she did not fear death, but faced it bravely knowing she was never alone. Margaret left us too soon. She encouraged, supported and inspired everyone she loved, and gave generously to many others in need, even those she never met. Predeceased by her mum Nancy Harper in June 2001, and her dad, George Harper in September 2003, Margaret will be sorely missed by her daughter Lori Peltz (Drew Thorvaldson), grandchildren Brittany and Connor Peltz; sons Courtney Grant and Spencer Grant (Brandie Matthews); sister Kathryn Harper (niece Leah Smith), plus many other aunts, uncles, cousins and precious friends. Margaret always liked working with numbers and in the area of customer service. She originally wanted to go to University and be a social worker. However, after 26 years in the workforce, Margaret secured a job with Comcheq (now Ceridian). She worked at this job for the past 13 years, advancing to Accounts Payable Manager, and as much as she had other aspirations career-wise she said I love this job and wouldn't want to do anything else. Margaret felt that flowers were sad reminders and has requested no flowers be sent to the funeral. She requested that donations be made instead to CancerCare Manitoba and Alzheimer Society. Our deepest heartfelt gratitude is extended to the Palliative Care Program with all the doctors, nurses and health care aides involved who each added their unique and compassionate touch to enhance Margaret's life. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 14 at 1:30 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 MCGILLIVRAY BLVD (BETWEEN PEMBINA WAVERLEY) 925-1120 PLEASE BRING A TIN FOR THE BIN HELP US SUPPORT WINNIPEG HARVEST
