ABRAM CORNELIUS DEFEHR Abe went to be with his Lord and Saviour on March 8, 2006, at the age of 96. He was born May 12, 1909 in Millerovo, Russia and settled in Winnipeg with his family in 1925. In his early 20s Abe met Velma Litz at the North End Mennonite Brethren Church and in 1931 they were married. Abe and Velma shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until Velma's passing in 1993. Abe's life was centered by a strong Christian faith and he always had a word of encouragement and support for those in need. He will be deeply missed by his son Cornelius DeFehr, three daughters Velma Dyck Schrock, Gretta Isaac, and Alice Pauls, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Abe spent his final years with his loving wife Mary Wieser De Fehr and her family in Kelowna. A memorial service will be held at Elmwood Mennonite Brethren Church, 145 Henderson Hwy., Winnipeg, on Friday, April 21, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, 134 Plaza Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9, Canada.
