MARIE BACHYNSKY (nee BOYCHUK) Peacefully and surrounded by family, Marie Bachynsky died at the Tuxedo Villa Nursing Home on Saturday, March 25, 2006. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother and she will be much missed by her family, Marie was born in Arbakka, MB on July 26, 1917, where she grew up with her nine siblings. On November 11, 1939, she married her husband of 55 years, Walter Bachynsky, A longtime resident of Winnipeg's West end, Marie raised two children, Nancy and Kenneth and was also a dear Grandmother to Christa and Rea. Marie loved spending time with her family with whom she was generous of time and spirit. She was an enthusiastic gardener, spending many hours in her lush yard on Dominion Street. Marie also enjoyed winemaking, creating outstanding fruit varieties in her basement cellar. An incredibly social woman, she often spoke fondly of her coworkers at the Holiday Inn Downtown. She was an exceptional seamstress, an avid collector of recipes, and a fabulous cook. Marie was also an animal lover and one of her great joys was her dog Minnie, who she doted on during her later years, Marie will be remembered by her children, Nancy (Klaus), Kenneth (Jean); granddaughters, Christa and Rea (Sean) and her sisters, Linda (Siegy), Joyce (John) and Rosie (Pete). She is predeceased by her husband Walter, her parents, Lena and William Boychuk, her brothers, George, Peter and John, her sisters, Doreen, Kay and Sophie. Marie resided at the Tuxedo Villa for the last ten years of her life and the family would like to thank the staff for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., on Monday, April 17 at 12:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Room N108-2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3J 0L3 in Marie's memory.
