SOLANGE VIELFAURE (nee DESROSIERS) It is with great sorrow that the family announces the death of Solange Vielfaure after a lengthy illness on April 12, 2006. Solange was born in Otterburne, MB on December 2, 1927. She attended school both in Otterburne and in St. Pierre-Jolys. After completing her studies, she taught school in La Broquerie and later in St. Norbert. She continued her education and graduated from the St. Boniface Hospital as a Laboratory Technician. She pursued her career at the Grey Nuns' Hospital in Regina and then returned to Manitoba to practice at the Misericordia Hospital. In 1951 she married Albert Vielfaure from La Broquerie where she resided until the time of her death. Solange raised a family of five children and was a devoted full-time mom. She leaves to mourn her husband of 55 years, Albert Vielfaure and their five children, Jocelyne (George Burrow), Monique (John Mackenzie), Paul and Gisèle (Leclerc) and their children, Miguel, Kristine, Chantal, Sofie and Ghyslyn; son Denis and Nicole (Bonneville) and their children, Eric, Joel and Jérémie; son Claude and Barb (Magnusson) and their sons, Réjean and Alex; and one special great-granddaughter Izabela. She also leaves behind two sisters, Hélène (Ed McShane), Anita (André Courcelles, deceased); and two brothers Gérard (Gwen), and Gilbert (Sylvia); two sisters-in-law, Thérese Desrosiers and Lois Desrosiers. She was predeceased by her parents, Horace and Dorothée; her brother Lucien; and niece Gisele Lee; and her beloved granddaughter Lynne Vielfaure. In 1995, Solange underwent emergency open heart surgery for a ruptured ventricular septum. She miraculously survived thanks to Dr. S. Bhattacharya and a wonderful team of skilled professionals at the St. Boniface Hospital. With great determination she enjoyed 11 more years of life overcoming breast cancer and other medical conditions. Her tenacity and courage were an inspiration to us all. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gérald Gobeil, her family doctor since he began practicing in Ste. Anne some forty years ago, for his devoted care and his wisdom during all of these years. We would also like to thank the staff at the Ste. Anne Hospital and the Bethesda Hospital for their dedication and compassion during the numerous times that Solange was a patient. A special thank you to Yvonne Boulianne, Home Care Nurse, for her ongoing support and encouragement. The mass of resurrection will be held in La Broquerie on Monday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. presided by Mgr Albert Fréchette accompanied by Father Louis Vielfaure, m. afr. The interment of the ashes will be held at a private ceremony at a later date. Solange est née à Otterburne le 2 décembre 1927 et poursuit ses études à l'école de Otterburne et au couvent des surs Jésus Marie à St. Pierre-Jolys. Après ses études, elle enseigne à St. Norbert et à La Broquerie. Ensuite elle prend un course de technicienne de laboratoire à l'hôpital St. Boniface et quitte le Manitoba pour aller travailler à l'hôpital des soeurs grises à Régina. Elle revient pour travailler à l'hôpital Miséricorde à Winnipeg. En 1951 elle épouse Albert Vielfaure de La Broquerie où elle demeure jusqu'à sa mort. Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux de 55 ans, Albert et leurs 5 enfants: Jocelyne (George Burrow), Monique (John Mackenzie), Paul et Gisèle (Leclerc) et leurs enfants Miguel, Kristine, Chantal, Sofie et Ghyslyn; fils Denis et Nicole (Bonneville) et leurs enfants Eric, Joel et Jérémie; fils Claude et Barb (Magnusson) et leurs enfants Réjean et Alex; et une arrière petite-fille bien aimée Izabela. Elle laisse aussi deux soeurs : Hélène (Ed McShane), Anita (feu André Courcelles); 2 frères Gérard (Gwen) et Gilbert (Sylvia); et deux belles-soeurs Thérèse Desrosiers et Lois Desrosiers. Elle fut précédée par ses parents Horace et Dorothée Desrosiers, son frère Lucien, sa nièce Gisèle Lee, et sa petite-fille Lynne Vielfaure. En 1995 Solange subit une crise cardiaque et miraculeusement survit à travers d'une intervention chirurgicale. Elle doit ensuite vaincre le cancer du sein et plusieurs autres maladies toujours avec une détermination et une tenacité exemplaire. La famille désire remercier le Docteur Gérald Gobeil pour son dévouement et ses conseils précieux pendant toutes ces années, également le personnel des hôpitaux Ste. Anne et Bethesda à Steinbach pour tous les bons soins accordés à Solange. Merci sincère à Yvonne Boulianne, infirmière à soins domiciles, pour son appui et pour sa gentillesse. Le messe des funérailles aura lieu le 17 avril 2006 à 10 hrs 30 présidée par Mgr Albert Fréchette accompagné du Père Louis Vielfaure, m. afr. L'inhumation des cendres se fera au columbarium situé dans le cimetière de La Broquerie à une date ultérieure.
