LORRAINE GAIL KORVING February 18, 1940 - April 10, 2006 It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, daughter, mother and grandmother, Lorraine Gail Korving (nee Kapitanchuk). Lorraine is survived by Ben, her loving and devoted husband of 48 years; beloved mother Anne; daughter Melanie (Robert); son Benjamin (Leanne); four cherished grandchildren, Robert, Noah, Emily and Aidan. She also leaves to mourn her sister Sandra; and nephews, Gerald and Michael. Lorraine will be missed by many extended family members from The Netherlands, Canada and the United States. Lorraine was a caring, generous person who embraced life to the fullest. She maintained a strong will and determination throughout her long and courageous battle with cancer, and never reflected on self pity. She possessed a wonderful ability to find optimism and laughter in every situation. She encouraged and supported the people she loved, and was always a true inspiration to so many around her. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she was a wonderful Baba to her four adored grandchildren. Lorraine was truly a beautiful person in many ways, and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Funeral service 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 18 at the Winnipeg Centre Vineyard, 782 Main St. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Health Sciences Centre and Seven Oaks Hospital for their excellent care. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Under His wings, Oh what precious enjoyment! There I will hide until life's trials are o'er. Sheltered, protected, no evil can harm me. Resting in Jesus, I am safe evermore. - W. O.
