Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORAH GERTRUDE HONEYBORNE (nee HARDING) Norah Honeyborne passed away peacefully in the Nanaimo General Hospital, BC on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Brenda in 1987 and by her sister Phyllis. Norah is survived by her husband Reginald and left to cherish her lifetime of memories are her daughter, Janet (Peter) and grandsons, William and Sean; her son Reginald (Elizabeth) and grandsons, Symon, Mason and Jacob; her granddaughter Norah (Derek) and great-grandchildren, Brenda and Jerry and grandson Daniel. The most loving of grandmas, she was always there to help and give hugs. Born in Milestone, SK, she trained as an R.N. at Regina General Hospital. Shortly after graduating during the Second World War she volunteered to join the British Civil Nursing Reserve, working in Leatherhead and East Grimstead hospitals in the south of England, specializing in treating wounds and burns. She met her husband Reg and they came back to Winnipeg to start a new life. Norah will be remembered fondly by the Christ Church Quilters and Tea at Two groups, the St. James Rebekah Lodge, the Kiwanis Centre of the Deaf, and the Refit Centre of which she was a founding member. She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. A memorial service is to be held on Friday, April 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Church, 1755 Corydon Ave., in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
