Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEWIS JOSEPH FORREST February 1, 1928 April 10, 2006 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lewis, with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy; sons, Steven and Jeffrey (Tina Krebs) Forrest; daughter Donna (Patrick) Cornejo; beloved grandchildren, Andre and Brendon Cornejo, Alexandra, Reed and Rachel Forrest; sisters, Marie (Art) Proulx, Joan (Wayne) Harding; brother Bruce (Laureen) Jensen and many nieces and nephews. Lewis was predeceased by his brother Edward and granddaughter Santana Cornejo. Lewis spent 17 years camping at Spruce Sands with Dorothy and enjoyed many hours with friends around the campfire. Feeding chipmunks and the birds was a special joy for him. He loved fishing and was always looking for the BIG ONE!! He also enjoyed reading, particularly about history and war. Lewis was a pressman who retired early because of a disability. With his love of model airplanes he turned to teaching the air cadets of Jim Whitecross No. 6 Squadron how to build and fly them and about aerodynamics. Several students went on to become pilots. He joined the Perfect Circle Flying Club several years ago, and at the time of his passing was President of the club. We believe he is now soaring above the clouds!! The family would like to thank the staff of the Victoria Hospital who looked after Lewis and Dr. M. Jain for her care. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Lewis' life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 18, at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, Aubrey Street entrance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 310 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or CancerCare Manitoba, P.O. Box 2248, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4A6.
