Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN OLYNIK (nee DANYLCIW) August 4, 1926 - April 12, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Olynik, dear wife of the late John Olynik. Jean is survived by her children and grandchildren, Brian (Susan), Jason and Brendan; Bruce (Gerdy), Michael, Marcie and Jennifer; Nancy Bishop (Corey), Kristin, Kailyn and Braden; sister-in-law Sophie Bizruchak and many relatives and friends. Jean was born in Winnipeg and raised in East Kildonan. She married her sweetheart Johnny in 1949. They shared a truly wonderful life filled with love for 56 years. The family will treasure fond memories of the special times they had together - especially those at Gull Lake and numerous dinners and special occasions. Jean's life revolved around her family, sharing her love and guidance. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and spoke of them often. She was also a very dear friend to many and was always there to listen, chat and lend a helping hand. Jean was a member of Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church and was involved in many activities at the Church before her illness. Her faith was very important to her. Cremation has taken place. Jean's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Ave., with Rt. Rev. Canon Walter Klimchuk officiating. Inurnment to follow at Glen Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society Manitoba Division. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Centre and also to Dr. E. Renner and staff at the Liver Transplant Clinic, Health Sciences Centre.
