SYLVIA JOAN HENDERSON (nee MCCARTHY) April 9, 1936 - April 11, 2006 Joan is now resting peacefully in God's hands. She was deeply devoted to faith, family and friends. Joan will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Peter (Gail), MaryAnn / Mariyka, Michael, her brother Tom (Dorothy) and sister Margaret (Bill), along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Dr. Tom McCarthy, also by her husband Peter. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Pl. with Msgr. Ward Jamieson and Fr. Joseph C. Johnson, S.J. presiding. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the nurses and staff on 6A wing of the St. Boniface Hospital for providing exceptional care, compassion, and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Association, the M.S. society, the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of choice. Thomson Funeral Home 783-7211
