ALICE IRENE STIGLICH Peacefully in her daughter's arms, Alice passed away on Monday, April 10, 2006 at Golden Links Personal Care Home at the age of 86. Alice will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Gordon Savage, grandsons, Jason (fiancé Susan) and Neil; her sisters, Doris Williams, Phyllis Schutte, brother Bud Headrick of Prince Albert SK; daughter-in-law Doris and grandchildren, Karrol, Dan, Chad Stiglich and great-grandson Ethan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Her husband Sylvester, son Norman and brother Irvine predeceased her. Alice spent her working career in the retail industry, managing the Geraldton Department Store - Geraldton, ON, Eaton's Catalogue Sales - Esterhazy, SK and Department Head with The Bay in Elliott Lake, ON, Gagnon, QC, The Bay Unicity and St. Vital stores. After her retirement Alice devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. Cheryl and Gordon extend heartfelt thanks to the staff and families of Fort Garry Care Centre for their care and devotion over the past four and one half years. The untimely closing of FGCC necessitated Alice's move to Golden Links and the move was more than she could endure, Alice passed away one week later. We want to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff at Golden Links for their compassion and care during Mom's short stay. A private family graveside service and celebration of Alice's life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Golden Links Personal Care Home, 2280 St. Mary's Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2N 3Z6. God saw you getting tired So He wrapped his arms around you, and whispered, Come to me . You didn't deserve what you went through, So He took you home to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best And when I saw you sleeping, So peaceful and free from pain I could not wish you back To suffer that again.
