GORDON WILLIAM BARR After a courageous battle with cancer, the family of Gord would like to announce his passing on April 14, 2006. Gord will be lovingly remembered by his family: wife Donna, children, Pam (Rob), Angie (Brian), Deanna (Corky) and Roberta (Garry); grandchildren, Jesseca, Kaitlynn, Kieran; sisters, Shirley (George) Williams and Judy (Gord) Strick and their families; brother-in-law Al (Sharon) Munro; sister-in-law Marilyn (Ken) Stewart and their families; as well as relatives, friends and neighbours. Gord was an avid curler and enjoyed going to bonspiels and meeting new people. Gord had many interests like farming, travelling, John Deer tractors, and carpentry and in later years gardening, but his main interest was his girls and grandchildren. He loved teasing and getting into mischief with his grandchildren. He was very strong willed and never backed down from an argument. He would back anyone who needed it. His last job was at Charison Turkey Hatchery which he enjoyed very much. The driving and seeing all the different farms and people was right up his alley. He would talk about all the different farms and the people he met. Special thanks to Dr. Ralph Wong and the nurses at St. Boniface Cancer Care for all their kindness; to Dr. Kanji and nursing staff at Stonewall Hospital who made his last days so much easier, also to Stonewall Home Care staff for all their caring in his last months at home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Care at St. Boniface in his memory. Following Gord's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on April 21, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Stonewall Legion for meeting with the family. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall in care of arrangements.
