THOMAS JOHN KENNEDY INGS April 23, 1923 - April 16, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Tom, at the Victoria General Hospital. He will be remembered and deeply missed by his children, Judy, Holly, Warren (Sheila), Wendy (Glenn) and Tom (Nancy) and grandchildren, Jason, Adam, Blair, Carley, Darcie, Brandie, Sara, Steven, Heather, Maggie and Mike, and great-grandchildren Brendan, Madison, Luke and Grace. Predeceased by the love of his life, Helen (Scoville) in 1992 and granddaughter, Gillian Mezon in 1995. Tom lived his whole life in Winnipeg where he and Helen raised their five children. He worked for the Timothy Eaton Company for 24 years and then completed his career as the manager of National Lamp Inc. Tom served in the Second World War as a seaman for the R.C.N.V R. He saw active duty from 1942 through 1945. Some of Tom's fondest memories were times spent with his many cousins, both as a child and later as an adult. He loved to golf, be out in his garden tending his tomatoes and roses, and most recently playing the quarter machines at the casino. He had many friends throughout his life and in spite of his stubborn demeanor, or his opinionated thoughts, they all knew he was a true and generous spirit. In honouring Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Our heartfelt thanks to the gentle and caring staff on the fourth floor at Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tom may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of Manitoba, 1114 A-233 Kennedy St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J5. p.s. Gone but not forgotten. Ta ta Tom.
