Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMIL DITTBERNER 1914 2006 On April 15, 2006 our beloved father, grandfather (Opa) and great-grandfather went home to be with his Lord. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Gertrud (nee Janke) who was his faithful partner for 66 wonderful years; his four children, Dagmar (Fritz Ulrich), Burke (Elvira), Renate (Werner Rauser), Klaus (Corinne); ten grandchildren and their spouses; twenty great-grandchildren; nephew Paul Dittberner and family of Winnipeg; as well as many relatives and friends in Germany. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and three sisters all of Germany. Emil was born on July 22, 1914 in Offenbach, Germany, and immigrated with his family to Winnipeg in 1953. After hearing the Gospel in 1950 in Frankfurt, Germany, he received the Lord Jesus as his personal Saviour. He was in fellowship in the assembly in Frankfurt, then in the West End Gospel Hall in Winnipeg for 36 years and lastly in the Ashfield Gospel Hall near Lockport. He was a man of deep faith and an inspiration to his large family. After coming to Winnipeg, Emil worked for two years at Trans-Canada Fur Dressers, six years in the heating business for Aetna Heating, ten years in the turbine department for Bristol Aerospace and three years as a park attendant at Grand Beach Provincial Park until his retirement in 1979. Emil was a man who loved his family. He was always ready to give wise counsel, financial support and spiritual encouragement, to all that knew him. We will miss you, Dad! Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 20, at 1:00 p.m. at Klassen Funeral Home, with Ken McCorkle officiating. Viewing with a short devotional and a time of sharing will be on Wednesday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m. also at Klassen Funeral Home. Dear all, just read your news from 2006 when I looked for Emil Dittberner. Emil Dittberner, a different one, who was born in 1898 as far as I know was my grandfather. My son is studying mechanics in Germany and will be for one semester in Winnipeg from August 2013 on. I don`t believe in any relation but it is funny isn“t it.
