LYNNE-MARIE HAMILTON (nee TOPLEY) March 25, 1948 - April 16, 2006 Peacefully, on Sunday, April 16, 2006, Lynne-Marie Hamilton passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital, ending her courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Jack and Leida Topley and will be deeply missed by her children, Ian Hamilton, Colleen Hamilton (Derek Jones); her sister Bonnie Stonyk (Brian Stonyk); her niece Nicole Stonyk (Austen Kelly); her nephew Michael Stonyk, as well as close family friend, Darryl Harkness. Mom spent her early childhood years in East Kildonan. Her family then moved to River Heights throughout her adolescence and early adulthood. She returned to East Kildonan to raise her family and finally settled in Elmwood. For the greater part of Mom's life, summers were spent at Betula Lake, initially staying with relatives, surrounded by family before finding their own cottage, which was always full with friends and family. These are the summers that brought Mom great joy and wonderful memories. When we were very young, Mom volunteered at Angus McKay elementary school, in classrooms and with fundraisers. She also volunteered at Bronx Park Community Club, helping everywhere she could. She was always there for anything anyone needed with words of encouragement, a smile, and a nice hug. Her genuine love for people led her to work with several organizations that handle people with disabilities. Mom's work was a very important part of her life. She thought of her clients and co-workers as a second family. Mom found joy in small things all her life. A day filled with sunshine, good music, and surrounded by her family and pets was very precious to her. Mom's sincere personality and kind heart touched many lives and she will be fondly remembered by many. A service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca Remembrances may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Visions of Independence in Lynne's memory.
