ETHEL (SUE) MACKENZIE It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Sue, on April 16, 2006 at Concordia Hospital. Sue was born in Milestone, SK, later moving to Regina where she was employed by the Government of Saskatchewan. She married Gord in 1949 after which they settled in Winnipeg where she was employed as a legal secretary until her retirement. The family enjoyed many summers and weekends at the cottage in Sandy Hook where Sue enjoyed gardening, bird watching and walks on the beach with the dogs. In her spare time she was involved in a variety of activities including curling, bowling, lawn bowling and golfing. Sue was also very active in the North Kildonan United Church with the UCW and enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and Europe with close friends. Mom was a tremendous support to both of her daughters in all aspects of their lives. She will be remembered for her generosity, compassion, humour, love and unwavering support. Sue was predeceased by her daughter Linda and seven siblings, Harold, Lloyd, Harry, Joe, Clara, Cleo and Ginger; granddogs Skye and Beazer. She is survived by Gord, her husband of 57 years; daughters, Cheryl and Laurie (Dwayne); sister Evelyn; granddogs, Jake, Tilley, Moocher and Spirit. The family wishes to extend a thank you to Dr. Darcy Johnson, the nurses and nurse's aides on 3 East of the Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with reception to follow. Rev. Marc Whitehead officiating.
