N. BLANCHE TOLTON Blanche, widow of the late Rev. H. G. Tolton, passed away on April 18, 2006 at Maples Personal Care home after recently celebrating her 100th birthday. Blanche was born on March 24, 1906 in Portland, Oregon and moved to Killam, AB at the age of 8 where the family farmed. Blanche went to Brandon College where she received her music degree and there she met her future husband Gordon. As a minister's wife, her special interest was always the children and the Sunday schools at the various churches where her husband was the minister. She later went back to her first interest teaching piano in her Trancona studio retiring at the age of 72. She leaves to cherish her memory son Gary (Mildred) of Saskatoon and daughter Janice Dunbar of Fort Lauderdale, five grandchildren Twyla (Fraser) Markham of Saskatoon, Jordan (Helen) Tolton of Surrey, BC, Lisa (Dave) Kopp of Thunder Bay, ON, Jennifer (John) Bermudez of Miami, Florida and Michael Dunbar of Baltimore, Maryland, great grandchildren Trevor and Shane Markham, Sarah Bermudez and Michael Kopp as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Ernestine and Norman Pound for all the care and love they have extended to their aunt over the years. Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 21st at 2:30 p.m. in Broadway First Baptist Church, 790 Honeyman Ave. The family wishes to thank the caregivers on 2W at the Maples Personal Care Home for all the care and compassion they showed to Blanche over the past twelve years. Blanche's family would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Araceli Rasalan for her caring and loving companionship, treating Blanche as her own mother.
