DOROTHY (LOIS) SNIDER 1928 - 2006 Passed away, peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on April 17, 2006 at the age of 77, with loved family members by her side. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Snider (December 2005). Loving and extremely devoted mom of daughters, Vivian (Bob) Turczyn of Saskatoon and Dale (Jim) Wiebe of Kitchener. Much loved Nana will be sadly missed by her three grandchildren, Jason and Andrea Turczyn and Jill Wiebe, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Predeceased by her parents, Mable McDougall (nee Hemmingway) (1966) and John McDougall (1967). Also by three sisters, Irene Christie (1970), Mary Eleanore Bunny Campbell (1991) and Leona Temple (1992). Survived by her three sisters, Kathleen Rublack (Vancouver), Bernice Reynolds (Los Altos, CA) And Joyce Callbeck (St. Albert, AB). Mom enjoyed a wonderful life with her loving family. Lois was an excellent homemaker who dedicated her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She and Lorne savoured a long and happy marriage together for 57 years. They had many memorable holidays, especially with their family in Florida. She will be greatly missed and is now resting in peace with her cherished husband. Honouring Lois' personal wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share in the memorial service celebrating the lives of Lois and Lorne in the Chapel of the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo, on Saturday, April 22, at 3:00 p.m., followed by a reception to meet with the family and share memories in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the wonderful nurses of Grand River Terrace, 3rd floor and Dr. Melanie Carruthers of Freeport Hospital who treated Lois with such compassion and care. In Lois' and Lorne's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, ALS Society or to the Grand River Hospital Foundation (Freeport Hospital) and can be arranged through the funeral home.
