JOAN ELAINE ANDERSON (nee NICHOL) Suddenly on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at her residence, Joan Elaine Anderson, aged 71 years of Carman, beloved wife of the late Otto Anderson of Sperling, Manitoba. Joan was predeceased by her husband Otto, and leaves to cherish her memory her children Janis Sprott (Barry) of Virden, MB, Paul Anderson (Anne-Marie) of Calgary, AB, Brenda Recksiedler (Brian) of Morris, MB, Lisa Barger (Dean) of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren: Chris, Jaret, and Joel Sprott; Samantha, Stephanie, and Allyssa Anderson; Kirsten, and Braydon Recksiedler; and Carly Kozar. Joan is also survived by one sister Donna (Don) Doyle, one brother Ron Nichol all of Carman, MB and one brother-in-law Cameron Kirk of Sanford; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Bert and Margaret Nichol, and by two sisters, Joyce Cates, and Doreen Kirk. Joan was born in Carman, MB on November 9, 1934. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Sperling. She married Otto Anderson in 1955 and began to start their family. Joan worked as a dental assistant in Winnipeg for Dr. B. Schwartz for a number of years and also was an Eastern Star Worthy Matron. Joan was always willing to volunteer her time. She spent time playing bingo, bowling, and curling with her friends. Joan was an avid sports fan, and she loved watching her grandchildren play soccer, baseball, and hockey. Joan took pride in her garden, always creating something new to add to it every year. We will miss you. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Sperling Community Centre with Karen Tjaden officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Sperling Cemetery, Sperling. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6, or to a charity of one's choice.
