KATIE STEFANYSHYN (nee FILIPCHUK) Peacefully on April 21, 2006 Katie passed away in her 92nd year. She was predeceased by her husband Bill in 1975 and daughter Betty in 2001. Mom's memory will be cherished forever by her son Robert (Myrna) and daughter Bonnie (Bob), son-in-law Leonard; grandchildren Curtis, Candace, Craig, Kathy and Cameron; six great-grandchildren; her brother Frank (Joan); numerous nieces and nephews. Mom loved to spend time with her family and cooking Sunday dinners. She enjoyed the outdoors, travelling, carpentry work, sewing, and playing bingo. She will always be remembered for her spontaneity in life and strong willed nature. Special thanks goes to Virginia, Bonnie, Doris and all other nursing staff at Betel Home for the care and kindness they gave our mother during her stay. Funeral services will be held on April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Interment will follow in the St. Clement's Cemetery. The Ven. Rev. Godfrey Mawejje will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katie's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
